PD Pasar Jaya Surveys Market Location in Seribu Islands

The planned construction of traditional market in Seribu Islands keeps being finalized. Since Thursday (12/1) until today, the survey team under PD Pasae Jaya does survey at four island residential to collect the residents opinion related market location.

"We look for the location plus collect opinion from locals. About it is building or floating, we have yet to decide it," said Adi Wijaya, Director of Technical for PD Pasar Jaya, Pramuka Island, Saturday (12/3).

He explained, aside to maintain staple food price, the project is aimed to improve the public welfare.

Council Supports Floating Market Project in Seribu Islands

"This is just beginning. Later, we will study the survey results first at Tidung, Untung Jawa, Kelapa and Pramuka islands. We want each island to have market," he expressed.

Meanwhile, Ema (51), a food peddler at Pramuka Island admitted she was happy if the market could be realized in the near future.

"I do not need to shop at another region, and can save my money to shop later," she finished.
